Beerheads: prepare for a month of true beer guzzling and appreciation. It’s that time of year again and our city is scrambling around, getting ready to celebrate Munich’s largest beer festival, Oktoberfest - Hong Kong style. As usual, the Jockey Club will host Hong Kong’s grandest Oktoberfest celebration at the Happy Valley Racecourse, where you will find all the essentials: authentic German grub, fun games, and of course, a vast selection of worldwide beers. You won’t want to miss a single night!
Alternatively, you can head down to Tsim Sha Tsui for the Marco Polo Hotel’s 23rd Anniversary of the German Bierfest, where you’ll find an equally mad party. Get suited up in your lederhosen and dirndl and show your support for Munich-based band The Notenhoblers who, clad in Oberkrainer clothes, are set to rock the stage with their hearty German folk tunes. Make sure you arrive with a ravenous appetite as there will be enough bangers and sauerkraut to fill everyone up.
If you’re feeling adventurous and are seeking a journey, why not gather your mates and toast it up at the 6th Oktoberfest celebration held at Macau’s MGM? Together with Hong Kong and Macau’s German Consulate General, the MGM have promised to bring the wildest Oktoberfest bash yet.
Whichever way you go, don’t forget to raise your stein and “prost!”
