GnR - We've just finished a fair bit of performance work .... reduced page load times / brought CSS / external elements under control. IE8 and some Javascript stuff is next on the list of things to do.

OK-seems I had to upgrade the app to gain this exciting new feature.

Geoforums has around 60 characters per line

That would seem a plan to drive shorter, snappier comments rather than longer more detailed threads
It does seem to me that posts these days are shorter. Do you have any data on the average post length pre and post the site changes?

One of the things that was 'better' about GeoExpat was the quality of some of the posts. Now it all seems a little short.

@East_coast - would be an interesting stat to pull up.

I'm speculating that it may be the font size ... OR .. may be that our mobile usage is about 200%+ since everything is now viewable / accessible via a mobile browser.

One of our stats I've looked at leads me to believe that mobile users post less / read more (frequency).

Will look at post lengths later.

Might even run an A/B test to see if the font size is an issue - have to figure out how to run it and for how long the test needs to run, to get a better sample.
