What is the average cost a surgery to correct a deviated septum?

    Hey all,

It's been determined that I have a deviated septum while in the US. I'm looking to compare the cost the surgery to correct a deviated septum in HK vs the US to decide where I want to have the surgery done. Did anyone in HK have surgery done to correct a deviated septum at a private hospital? If so, how much did it cost you?

You mean you're looking for the price of a nose job?

    Don't be a dick head.

OP: Following on from a series of nose breaks (mostly football related, once domestic-related), I had a septorhinoturbinoplasty last year at the Matilda (three operations at one time). All in, I think it was about HK$250k which my insurance paid for.

Matilda is known to be probably the most expensive in HK so you should look at my figure as the high water level mark.

I would second the Thailand recommendation, Surgery + Holiday at the same time for a fraction of the cost in HK

Thailand might be a good shout.

Just make sure you don't get booked in for the wrong type of operation.

While Bumrungrad is top notch, they also depend on their name and reputation to charge over the top (kind of like the dentists we were discussing last week).

If you are going to look at Bangkok for surgery, look into www.bnhhospital.com and www.samitivejhospitals.com -- same/similar service and products at much better prices.

I looked into this in HK a few years back. The one thing that put me off was that they wanted me to be hospitalized overnight, which was unusual. I ended up doing it in the West in an outpatient center. If the doctor knows what he's doing, its pretty straight forward.
