    Audio gear repair?

I'm afflicted by a need to accumulate electronics from the prime of my youth. It's a bit like those wankers who pine for muscle cars, except it's cheaper and doesn't make people assume my junk is underdeveloped.

Anyone know of a shop that does refurbishing of "vintage" stereo gear? I've got a 70's Pioneer SS amplifier I'd like to get recapped. I'd take it on m'self, but experience has shown that my soldering skills are best used for letting the smoke out of components, predicating their death.

I know there's a bunch of tube gear shops in Mongkok, but I don't know if they do repairs or just sell gear. I suppose I could go ask, but that would require me to travel south of the dragons...

Perhaps. I can always ask someone to write up my requirements for me.

Our household goods should be headed this way soon. Once I have the gear here, I'll think more about it. One thing I need do is pick up an alternate music source for when my big Pioneer is in surgery.

I'm in Ma On Shan now, will be in Sai Kung soon, so going to Fanling is no problem.

I'm planning to buy a class T amp. I've been wanting one to play with and there are some good options locally and in Malaysia that I can mail order.
