Thanks huja. Could you PM me the number of the retention department so I don't have to bother with the first two clowns please? Or you could post it here for the benefit of everyone else who wants to terminate with the least possible hassle (might be too much to ask for with PCCW/Netvigator).
Okay, so I'll just call and ask for the retention department then.
Quicker option. Go to PCCW store, ask to pick up cancellation form. Fill out said form and mail back (or give back to PCCW store). Worked for me last time I wanted to cancel something with PCCW.
pin is spot on here, go to the shop. So many letters seem to get lost in the post with PCCW.
When I terminated a Netvigator contract I went to the shop, pointedly wrote down the name of the salesperson dealing with me and made him sign a letter I prepared confirming receipt of my cancellation notice.
May seem like overkill, but these guys can be seriously untrustworthy in the termination department. The upside was that I received an email two hours later confirming the cancellation, and everything went smoothly from there.
Update: I requested, received, signed and mailed the termination request and was contacted by PCCW about a week later.
Was told someone would contact me within 30 days from the date of the termination request and arrange a pickup time for the cable box, modem, remote control, cables, etc.
To my great surprise, someone DID call to arrange a pick up time/date and someone actually DID show up at the agreed upon time/date (today) and pick up the hardware. *GASP*
. . . Not that it's all settled. Won't know that until the next bill comes. I am also half-expecting them to cut off my internet and land line service due to some paperwork/communication snafu. I guess with such low expectations, you can only be pleasantly surprised . . .
