This maybe a silly question, but I really have no idea how it's done in HK.
Can I, having cash in my hand, along with an account number, simple enter a bank branch and pay money in?

Thank you!
Some banking "customs" here are so alien to me that I wanted to make sure![]()
what do you find alien? only thing i found different were: current account rather than chequing account
if you are going to pay 3 or 5mil USD in 20USD notes then likely you will not be allowed to do it.
You're welcome to my account number. You can do nothing to my detriment with that information.
The HK banking system doesn't have that flaw as far as I am aware. To set up an autopay you either need to be logged in as me in online banking or fill in a paper form which includes far more information than just my account number.
