My sister-in-law was in her job for 5 months (Her company has a 6 month probationary period). Her supervisor told her (quite firmly) that she would not be kept on after probation and told her to resign herslf. He told her she would be "better off" than not being renewed. I am wondering "better than what"? Better than the company saying she is not being kept on? I would have thought she should hang on and let the company end the contract. At least she could explain that the company was suffering downturn same old etc
