shopping online & shipping to HK

Hello,

What is the best way to buy something online and have it shipped to HK? Many websites only send to addresses in the US with no international shipping. This is a oproblem when you can only find what you want on such a site. What to do?

you can have it mailed to a friend/family that lives in the us
and once they receive it, they can mail it to you to hkg....
i've done it a couple of times, it takes a while but hey if
you really want it then...

It's just sometimes get thinking about something, and see it online...but cannot find it locally online or offline; then the bummer is that it is only available to ship within the US. It shouldn't be limited to the US, they don't want or money or what?

So, again, what to do? If no address in the US - no relatives, no friends...then what?

try to email someone at the store to see if they can arrange it, i've done it before.
but i usually just have it shipped to my family there for them to combine with other stuff and ship over

Amazon will ship to HK most things. However, it always costs more then it really should.

In addition to getting the online merchant to ship it to a HK address (which could always be done I suppose if you were willing to pay the shipping cost), what about restrictions and/or taxation on importations? Are there any?

what is it that you're looking for anyway? you might think it's not in hk but somebody here might have seen it. i've ordered quite a bit online and had it delivered here w/o any problems. but of course as someone has already mentioned, it depends on the item.
