Just wondering if anyone has a checklist for wrapping things up in HK.
Things like
2 months before...
Notify landlord of departure.
1 month before....
Notify gas company, electricity company, cable company, water company of departure.

Get your MPF refunded if you don't think you'll ever come back
- cut phone/internet subscriptions
- cut utilities
- notify landlord
- settle tax. You'll need help from your HR though as they need to give you a letter with which you can go to IRD. You'll also need to get a stamped form that you're leaving the country
- settle MPF. You can take out your MPF but this is a one-time only option. If you take it out now, you won't be able to use this option in the future again
if your cable company is NowTV, good luck canceling it.
Funny, that was actually very easy for me. I called them, told them I was leaving the country and the lady waived the remainder of my contract. Guess it depends on whom you talk to.
Formally they don't have to waive it though
Set up a change of address notification with the post office?
Book the flights
Organise the shipping of stuff (if applicable)
