HC... as for d___ l____... I don't know where that one came from - think it just evolved from one person's joke - but I don't see how that one is offensive really, unless it's targeted at kids or ridiculously ugly people.

FWIW - I've only seen it in funny situations and have not really felt any offense behind it, very similar to "you shut up"....When/how did it actually become offensive ?

Heh, yes, I accept that my humour is often lost on most people. Probably cos I have a lack of one...

It was used in the same why "What is your visa status" used.

So someone would ask, for example, "Where can I buy oranges near Strand", and whilst we here would respond "What's your visa status", over there, people would respond "describe looks". It was just the automatic response people would get.

Like I said, different strokes for different folks and if it is unacceptable here, I am fine with that.

Well, it's something you don't actually have to learn to deal with anyways since you're a guy.

Given that he's so open with his 'sexual harassment' in the forum, I couldn't sense any sort mental/physical danger in that.

When I see elementary kids getting unnecessarily yelled at by a 50, which I have seen, I let them handle it but I let them know I'm there. But I also let them know after the fact they should push back instead of saying sorry sorry when it's clearly not their fault. If I came into the picture, I took away that opportunity from them. Spells disaster later in life if this happens all the time.

But I think I get you if you were being careful about her outlook. It's all good.
