I think as well as 'like' there should be various other options. The red bar at the top would be so much more interesting if it said you've got 2 new likes, 4 despises, 3 loathes and one sloppy snog.

We USED to have the "red blob". You could get red blobs and green blobs - red blobs were for bad posts, green blobs were good posts. We had long arguments about how unfair it was that some people (for example, a certain fruit and pet person) used to get loads of red blobs for the crazy stuff he wrote and then it was all swept away and replaced with "likes".

All very friendly and touchy-feely. But not nearly as fun as actively "red blobbing" a post or pointing out that you DIDN"T LIKE it.
