So the protests came and went but a number of post 80's youngsters decided to sit down by the tram lines and disrupt traffic. So what did this achieve?

Maybe they were tired and had to sit down?
So when they are all loud and the CE has to go to hospital because a Gecko farted in Tin Shui Wai everyone says violence achieves nothing, the shouldn't shout, be loud, bla, bla, bla. When they are all quiet and sit down others are again saying well it achieves nothing.....bla, bla, bla.
So as we have those who condemn loud protests here, and those who condemn quiet protests. This means, I am sure, that we have experts here who can educate the populace in the art of bending the governments ear and more than that are willing to show they can get results. Any takers?
The jasmine revolution comes to Hong Kong.....the common theme in a lot of stories is how easy the HK police fall down, a slap or a push and over they go.
The point?
Need there always be one?
Sorry - and thank you - this instantly brought to mind my Yorkshire dayz and this catchy tune:
(Love the dog, and the spiraling guitar.)Those who feel the breath of sadness
Sit down next to me...
Those who find they're touched by madness
Sit down next to me...
Those who find themselves ridiculous....
Sit down next to me...
In love, in fear
In hate, in tears
In love, in fear
In hate, in tears
In love, in fear, in hate, in tears...
DOWN.
Oh sit down, oh sit down...
Sit down next to me
Sit down, sit down
In sympathy
Compared to the people in the middle east, I struggle to see what HK'ers have to complain about! We even have a sort-of democracy here with perhaps a better one coming. Most people have enough to eat, a place to stay, freedom of worship, freedom of speech, freedom to go shopping without wearing a burka and various other freedoms they don't have in the middle east. And what's more, there is no guarantee any of those revolutions are even going to change things for the better - look at the iranian revolution, that certainly "improved" things for the average folk living there.
