To cut a long story short...you can't get an HKSAR passport UNLESS you renounce your existing passport/nationality and pledge allegiance to the Chinese flag (which for people of Chinese descent should be a pretty easy process, and for those who are not, then the Immigration Department has procedures on how its possible to do so) in HK,..only then can you be qualified to get a HKSAR passport and also a China pass/ID/whatever.....
An HKSAR Passport has the only benefit of letting its holder to travel visa-free to 120 countries....(mind you,..only to TRAVEL, and nothing else you're thinking of...), apart from that, I see no "doors" being opened that would otherwise have opened anyway in any other situation, no extra property ownership privileges that most ROA Permanent Residents already enjoy, no extra voting privileges that we don't already have (or not,), ...so it all boils down to personal choice, and convenience.
Essentially, weigh all the pros and cons and then decide....
There, it doesn't sound so difficult now, does it?
