    Clear Water Bay

    Hi you all,

I'm moving to Hong Kong soon, and I'd like to live in or near Clear Water Bay. Does anyone know how to get hold of a furnished apartment in that area?

Also, what would I get for HK$ 6-7000 a month in that particular area?

Please, any information, addresses, websites of interest is deeply appreciated.

    Hi AJ,

    http://www.gohome.com.hk/english/res...00&district=61

Some of the apartments may be furnished or semi-furnished. You usually have to negotiate individually with the landlords.

    Best of luck.

    Hey AJ,

Clear Water Bay is a relatively large area. Any idea where specifically you'd prefer to live? If you need something there then you'd have to contact agents in Sai Kung for houses/apartments as they have a good idea of what's available. Other places include Tseng Lan Shue, Ta Kwu Ling, HKUST, Silverstrand, etc..

    Hi

    Hi again,

Yes, the thing is that I want to live in a nice area near to HKUST. It is also important for me that there are good communication facilities, i.e. bus etc. When it comes to the neighborhood, I want to feel safe for my family that is moving with me.

AJ, The only place safer than Hong Kong is probably Singapore, as long as you're not going out and looking for the criminal element.

Can't remember the site, Asiaexpat??, but there was a flat on the HKUST property available now. Re safety, being on the Uni property likely means good security. Sai Kung is an area that has experienced some cross-border break-ins and I understand a couple of dogs can be a good idea in the more remote parts. An acquaintance lives on the Peak and has four--it's all relative ;-) I'm in Mong Kok in an old building with no services - but safe as can be, I'd say. As Shri says, HK is a comparatively safe city.

    Good luck!
