    Guitar Tutors/classes in New territories?

    Hello all,
I am a beginner in learning to play accoustic guitar and am searching for any classes that are available in English for beginners?
I live in Tai Po so if anyone knows of any places/ tutors, please mail me back! much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Just a thought

Angela - I don't know of any classes (I myself am looking for classical guitar in and around Tai Po area) but I know there is a guy who busks at Tai Po Market station.

I have seen him a few times and acoustical guitar is definitely his thing. He is quite good and may know of a class or offer them himself.

He is usually in the subway that leads to the Bus station and Wan Tau Tong estate.Don't know if he speaks English though. May be worth asking though?

    Hi ya,

I think both of you can try Tom Lee Music Ltd, they have a branch in Taipo (Uptown Plaza which is closed to Tai Po market Railway station).
I know they have piano classes offered but not sure about the guitar course. Anyway, you can check it out.

Angela - I found a website for a guy based in Sha Tin. I had sent an email for more info but as of yet haven't heard. Maybe you will have better luck? He seems to cover most guitar playing and music types.

    If so, let me know.

Tom Lee (based in both Tai Po and Sha Tin) do guitar lessons, but not sure what type of guitar. Another one to look at are Parsons Music who also have branches in Tai Po and Sha Tin and are opening in Tai Wai and Tai Wo shortly. They do musical courses, not sure about guitar tough.

the problem I am finding is that most of these guys charge an arm and a leg for not very much.

I heard there was a guitar information alliance but this seems to now be defunct. Does anyone know of anything similar?

I just saw this post from last year and thought I would provide an update seeing as I was also after a similar thing.

I ended up going to Parsons music in Tai Po and booking their teacher there. (incidentally he also works for Tom Lee but seems as though the teachers get a higher % of the hourly fee at Parsons).

Being going for a year now and really enjoying it although I am still crap.

Cost is $175 for a 45 minute lesson.
