As mentioned, these are the 20% taxis. In fact, if you know them well I know of ones that go as low as 60%....they pick you up and drop you off more for a favour and you pay the fuel.

Yup, you can get nice taxi drivers. One of my friends regularly visits the likes of the late coffee bars on the island and she gets back to Sheung Shui in one of these taxi's for $100.

I avoid getting into multi-phone taxis; the drivers seem to be more interested in answering the fucking calls than fucking driving! One was particularly bad and it became dangerous.

Similar happened once when after late-night partying in Wanchai-CWB I taxi'd it back to the NT. The nice 'nuff driver kept chit-chattin'... asking questions all the way... finally when at my destination, he turned 'round and asked fer me number... Got me a deal there

The multiple phone taxi's are indeed discount taxi's and most of the guys talking loudly on multiple phones are dispatching which is dangerous. I have a discount driver I use. Nice guy, honest, quiet, speaks good English and never on the phone. Plus he plays nice music so the ride is relaxing. Tung Chung to Central is $240.

They are for the discount taxi service, you used to be able to get 20% off, now a days its more just like 10-15 (single tunnel fare only).

Going to the airport from long distances is quite good for example I pay $240 from clear water bay to airport all inclusive where as the meter is like 310 (incl the bridge fare).

the max I've seen was 8, this is really taking it to a new height

wtb, i think that guy is a real stud with plenty of money. He goes from girlfriend to girlfriend and acts like a taxi driver but actually he's a man whore.
