Query on a Procedure for HK On arrival Visa

    Hi Expats

Iam an Indian holding valid Indian Passport. Iam Coming to Hong Kong for a day visit (yes only one day) from my present working place, Bangkok. I would like to know few things about the procedure 'on-arrial visa' at HK airport.

I had gone thru this link below :

    http://mumbai.chineseconsulate.org/e...sa/t180027.htm

    1) My company in Hong Kong has sent me both to & return e-tickets confirming by online. I understand from the above link that we need to have Original Confirmation Return air ticket showing exit from HongKong in order to issue me on arrival Visa.

Does my Return e-Ticket would be sufficient to approve my on-arrival VIsa? Or should I need to take Original Ticket from Thaiairways?

    2) I am carrying 2000HKD but it is not duly endorsed on my Passport. I dont have a Valid International Credit Card (though I have two debit cards of Thailand).

Does this would be fine for issueing On-Arrival Visa?

Please pass me your valauble suggestions.

    Thanks
    Veeranki

    eticket should be ok.

don't worry too much about the credit card.

to be ont the safe side, carry a letter from your employer saying you're employed in Bangkok.

My colleagues from our India office come to HK regularly ..
They never had to show any return ticket or any cc ..

A return e-ticket would suffice in case of any Q&A at immigration ..

If ur coming for an interview, then u may not get the letter frm ur employer

    Hi KnowItAll & Netfiend

Thanks for your quick replies. It given me a good light.

Yes, Iam coming for a final round of Interview (at The Center, Queen's Road).

    There are couple of questions:

    1) I may not get a letter from employer at HK so, as Netfined said I will not get a letter from my Thailand Employer or HK Employer.

So, at Immigration if a question comes, why are you visiting for only one day, should I say for a interview? or just on a tour? or is there any suggestion with regard to the point?

    2) I shall be travelling in MTR from Airport to Hongkong Central station. I understand it is about 23 minutes Joruney.

Can you tell me the procedure for MTR travelling? I had travelled before in MTR at Bangkok, though I would like to know some information on Travelling.

Thanks a ton for your replies

    Best Regards
    Veeranki

Just tell them you're here for a business meeting or meeting a client or an interview. Makes no difference to them.

Budget for about 60-90 minutes from the moment your plane lands to get to The Center. The MTR is fairly easy to navigate.. you buy a ticket as soon as you exit immigration and get on the train at the airport. The journey terminates in Central and you can pretty much walk to The Center (10-12 minutes).

HK is pretty easy to get around ...

If you do well in the interview, buy us a drink.

Thanks a ton for your replies KnowItAll.

Drink ? Sure...Sure. Do you like Takhila or my favourite JohineWalker?

If I could do the final hurdle well ..I will be in Hong Kong for a year . Hope I shall do it better.

Your contribution to this forum is priceless.

Shall come back with few more questions later.

    Thanks again

    Cheers

After you finish ur final round, there are more rounds awaiting . ( happy hour rounds ). Just ask where is Lan Kwai Fong and head to Dublin Jacks..to chill out.

Is this for a visit ? Indian passport holders don't need VISAs to enter Hong Kong for stays no less than 14 days.
