    Work visa

    Hi All,

Am helping to set-up a branch office of my company in Hong Kong and will be moving to HK from Tokyo in April. Because we are a SME I don't have the luxury of an HR office who will arrange the visa applications.

Would anyone be able to tell me what I need to have in place to get a visa and what kind of visa I need to get? I have a work visa for Japan, but would prefer not to use it, as I will need to continue paying taxes in Japan if I do so.

    Thanks heaps for your help.

    Miss Pixie

I'd hazard a guess that your work visa for Japan would not grant you permission to work in HK, in any case...

Clearly it wouldn't. It seems bizarre to think that it could.

But in any case I suggest talking to professionals.

InvestHK is the HK Government unit tasked with helping overseas companies establish themselves in Hong Kong. I suggest the OP reads through the relevant bits of their very comprehensive website and then talks to them.
