    Job market In HK

I have more than 4 years experience as System Administrator. I am planning to come to Hong Kong to find a job in IT. what is the procedure and how is the Job market.I see its good in job sites with the no.of openings available. please suggest the procedure to get a job in HK and budget accommodation so i can stay there untill i get a job.

So how do I get a job in HK? Is it better to apply to companies from India or should I move to HK ? is a specialist at my work it might be hard to get a job? Should I contact a headhunter? Advice please!

    Regards

    Raja

You should be a resident to come here and search for job(legally) or come in 14 days visitors visa and try for jobs(illegal). Try jobs website like jobsdb, careertimes, scmp.com, headlines jobs. It will be the best if u can get an offer from there and apply visa from india. Another thing is the language, as most jobs needs chinese language requirement, its quite hard at this moment.

About the accomdation, if you dont mind about hygiene and things can try to rent a room in Chungking mansion in Tsim sha tsui.
There are some better guest houses in near by building(golden crown court, mirador mansion). Also Mongkok Argyle street has a lot of guest houses.
You can bargain for the price and it would be cheaper if u rent for a long time(like one month) rather than daily rate.

For head hunters try Manpower Services (Hong Kong) Limited, Smartech Consultants Center, Top Match Professional, global Executive Consultants Ltd.

Even the famous Mafoi india has an HK office. Being in india you can contact them to try your luck.

    Raja,

To be honest, it won't be easy for you. I'm a resident of HK, with 7 years of IT industry, and it took me more than 6 months to get a job. So think carefully before you make your move. Good luck!
