    Mandarin in university / Saturday's

Rather than doing a language exchange or even private tuition (which can be expensive), I was considering enrolling in University and studying Mandarin every Saturday for a couple of hours in between trying to sandwich a private lesson in between the week.

Can anybody advise on some good universities that may be worth applying to, as I generally don't have a clue on the prestige / quality and their reputation for offering such courses.

Also, I assume this wouldn't be a problem me enrolling over here with just a sponsored working visa from my normal job (working Mon-Fri)?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S - if anyone has any language centres they can recommend from experience / hearsay that has positive reviews, I'd be very interested in hearing about those too.

It all depends on your requirements i think…as a private mandarin teacher for many years, i witness many students will not ladt for long… but picking up the pinyin system is a must… you can find many schools teach you conversation but do not teach you pinyin… coz they want you to come back and learn… therefore…set your learning objectives and the money spend what you want to get first and then you will find something worth of your money!
