Peking duck in Sheung Wan-Central-Wan Chai-Causeway Bay?

Does anyone know a restaurant in HK island near Sheung Wan, Central, Wan Chai or Causeway Bay? Prices should be reasonable. Variety of other dishes does not need to be wide.

    thanks!

Peking Garden in Central (Alexandra House?) is the most obvious. I think Yung Kee might also do a good peking duck, despite being more famous for roasted goose.

Yes, Yung Kee is well known for its goose meat dishes. What was to be a highly awaited invite due to recommendations from friends, turned out highly unpleasant for my visitors, makes me think twice about going back. Perhaps I may check out the other one. Thanks!

You could also try the American Peking Restaurant in Causeway Bay. They have amazing minced pigeon that you wrap in lettuce leaves, too.

We ordered some dishes, found some wriggly stuff in one dish. We even had to put in some effort to convince the staff that there was a problem! This was replaced by a new dish, only to find the some problem there too (sigh). So , one encounter at YK - my first (& last) visit.

Thanks Jay, I heard about this American PD restaurant, sounds very western, isn't it?

Err..why did I say Causeway Bay? it's in Wanchai...very close to Admiralty. It's very much a Chinese restaurant. I don't know how it got the name, but I'm curious now...

Interesting. I was thinking about the name earlier and I thought it might have been named that way to attract US Navy guys. It appears that I was right; it's been open for more than 40 years and it was named that way for US troops.

Thanks Jay, Now, this is interesting - US GIs. True, I checked and foundout that they also serve the salted baked chicken which has to be ordered in advance. How do you find the prices, especially the duck & pigeon dishes? Actually, I do not know the street prices for such dishes in HK, so your info will be helpful.

I tried once at one restaurant opposite TST Est Royal Garden. Really, I did not find the dish tasty. We had only the meat; there was no broth from the leftovers - a pity but essenial part of the meal.
