The punishment or the torture is not bad by itself.

The key lies in who makes the decisions on who to torture. That is where the system fails and fails miserably.

I see they shot up the Leopold Cafe too One of my favorite hangouts in Mumbai.

The problem with waterboarding is you're never 100% sure the person you're sticking under the hose is really guilty of anything.

    Yes. Me. Very much.

Maybe we should waterboard you a little - who knows if you aren't the mastermind?

What now? So waterboarding is ok if KIA decides whom to waterboard and whom not? Lovely. So, thanks to my green dots I'd be safe then I reckon?

Apart from the obvious humanitarian reasons why torture in any form is unacceptable, it is well proven to be unreliable and thus ineffective in obtaining information as the subject will say anything, including 'confessing' to acts of which he or she has never committed in order to stop the torture.

The sooner the US starts complying with the Geneva Convention the better...

Another vote against torture, but mainly my thoughts are for the innocent people in Mumbai.

Yeah Right!! That has been the basic premise and principle in India...and see what has that bring to it...replying with non-violence to violence works with ppl who have some sense, sanity..but not with ppl who understand only one language..
