Hi everyone, I too am new to Hong Kong and have been looking at joining a bookclub. I used to co run one in NZ and our one had been running for 7 years! It was awesome! I know some people have said they are keen to get together to start one....I am happy to explain how our one ran.....only one hitch, I am about to have my 3rd baby in 3 weeks time () so will be slightly occupied for a short while, but will be back into the swing of things shortly. I have 3 weeks of freedom so if a meet up happens in that time I would be there. cheers donna

Ball rolling... What suits people best - weeknights or weekends in the evening. For me either Tues, Thurs, Fri or Sat are best. Do you want a bookclub where we all read the same book and discuss it - or do you want to take turns buying books for the club, create our own excellent library? At my bookclub in NZ we took turns buying the books (we had a minimum value you had to spend, they were returned to you once everyone had finished reading them), and on the night we bought the books, we hosted with food and drinks etc I am happy to host at our place for the first one, its not big but it has a comfy couch . I figure that since you're about to become a whole lot busier that i might wrangle one of 2 others to get a meeting organised.
