    Phone Card (Mainland)

    does anyone know if those phone cards you get at 711/OK work in mainland? a quick trip to mainland and would like to be able to call mainland phones as well as HK numbers. thanks.

    cool thanks. which exiat at Sheung Shui and what are the vendors called? going there this weekend anyway, going to pick one up.

    you can buy those dual number cards as you exit the Immigration on China side. or you can run down to local unicom / china mobile store and pick up one. call charges depends on if the plan has monthly fee or not. Take the no monthly fee if you don't expect to call a lot. I normally forward my HK number to the HK number of the dual card as I enter china.

    forward function in case you need it
    dial this on your HK sim to forward **21*[HK no. of dual card]#
    dial this on your HK sim to cancel forward ##002#

    Actually you don't even need to go down to the mobile store, many side street shops do sell them, such as money changer, 7-11 etc. Just ask for a 1 card 2 number sim, they will know what you mean. It should look something like this

    You can also buy them on Ap Liu street in Sham Shui Po.

    If I'm not mistaken, you could pop into 7-Eleven for a China Mobile sim-card that allows you to make calls in & out of China / Hong Kong.
