    [Apartment] Who pays?

so one of the pipes in the bathroom sounds like it's leaking. a few door knobs also have issues. should the landlord cover the fees to fix these?

we had a leak in one of the the AC's earlier, but ended up cleaning all of them. they didn't charge for fixing it since the cleaning was a lot money already. should this be covered by landlord as well? (me thinking this probably isn't covered since it was our choice to clean)

the landlord is in mainland btw...

Yes to ALL, good luck. If the LL refuses to foot the bill then tell em that you will deduct it from the rent as they are responsible for it.

including the AC cleaning fee? anyway, we will give it a try. never even had a chance to talk to the LL after more than a year. would they just take it out of the deposit when the contract is up? oh well, worth a try anyway.

Cleaning fee is dodgy, some will say that the machine belongs to the LL so they should assume responsibility but some will say that they use it so cleaning is their own responsibility.

Taking is out of the deposit is the big risk which i failed to mention, which you can prevent by not paying the last two months rent, not sure if this is how you want to play the game

like you said, its worth a try, if you dont ask then you wont know what the answer is.

Shouldn't cost more than $500 to clean each unit anyway.
