It's actually even considered cheaper than Mathilad most of the time.
The cost in any of these hospitals is absolutely outrageous come to think of it but if you have an insurance that covers, why not.
And for those who wonder: Public Hospitals (for deliveries) do top jobs usually, albeit in less comfort.
No one can answer that question in advance. If there are no shared rooms available or she needs an emergency c-section or the baby needs special treatment it will be hundreds of thousands.
Why on earth didn't you check this earlier?
You need to ask the hospital for their fee schedule (seem available online anyway), and also your OBGYN's fee and also the fee of the pediatrician and anesthesiologist if your wife will have an epi or c section. For a natural delivery in Private Room at Canossa last month, with epidural (4 night stay), it cost my friend $148,000. If your wife is having a planned c-section, the Drs fees are generally the same, only the hospital charges go up a bit. If you are on a budget, suggest you get a shared ward room, as the doctor fees will also be cheaper.
You pay a different level of deposit at the start if you book a private/semi private/general ward - while not guaranteed (I never said it was) given the fact that these days hospitals are nowhere near as busy as they were a couple of years back when there was a major shortage due to huge demand from the mainland, the odds are firmly in your favor (but no guarantee indeed).Original Post Deleted
Out of the exactly 13 people I know who gave birth since the beginning of the year, 13 got what they initially ask for (at Mathilada, Saint Paul, Baptist, Saint Teresa and Sanatorium).
But I am sure, as always, that you will provide me with plenty of other views and opinions
Btw, again if the OP had read when booking he would have seen "Booking for admission to a requested room type is not guaranteed as it will depend on the availability of request on admission"
