    their search capabilities are useless though

    I tried searching for a hi8 camcorder and the search returned every item available!
    definitely still in beta!

    yeah there are still lots of bugs :-(

    furthermore, i cant see any gallery pics when i am searching on ebay hk in english. they only show the small green pic. i guess there is still lots of work to do.

    Nearly three years later, it appears ebay HK in English hasn't improved. Couldn't find a single item in multiple searches.

    Just use the US site and set the location as "Hong Kong" if you want to see items listed locally. Unfortunately, very often sellers in China list their locaton as Hong Kong because they use third party shipping services based here.

    The yahoo auctions website is still the most widely used in HK...

    I know it's all in chinese, but can't you get google chrome to translate the page?

    Yes and often their products are counterfeit. If you sell the same product overseas, people don't trust HK companies thanks to the scum bags over the border.
