    Octopus types

Any particular reason I should pay $70 for a "bought" octopus rather than $50 for an "on loan" one? Can't help feeling I'm missing something.

    Doug.

Its a Disnelyland special edition. Avoid at all costs.

I prefer just spend $50 to get it...I will not show it out of my purse...

They (the $70 ones) are more of a souvenir for tourists, with the pretty pictures on them. If you live here don't waste your money (that extra $20 will buy a couple of beers for God's sake!)

It's only an extra $20 for gods sake. Go get one.

The standard Octopus cards are $50 and include $35 stored value (ie a $15 deposit). The souvenir ones are $70 and include zero stored value (ie a $70 rip-off).

They will never be worth much as a collectable anyway, so really not worth it.
