I don't think they are in a hurry to fill up the annual quota of 1000.
Bear in mind that they only take in those who they deemed appropriate or of benefit to the HK society. You wouldn't believe how many people applied for it just because it doesn't cost anything up front and the IMMD's job is to filter a lot of these inappropriate ones. Seems like they are doing their job well. They never push it to the 1000 limit and it is probably fair to say only a handful of people met their strict requirements.
For anyone who is interested, I emailed the IMMD yesterday to ask them to confirm that they now have all the required documents to process my visa application. They replied that they did and that my case has been reserved for the next selection exercise, whenever that may be!
Thanks for sharing!
I submitted application in June/July this year time frame, got additional docs/info request early of Sept., I was supposed to submit all docs by 9-30, but I am still waiting for one report to reach HK ImmD office... hopefully will arrive soon.
May I ask when you submitted your QMAS application? And when you completed the additional docs/info submission?
Anybody out there know when the next selection will be held? End of Nov.?
Appreciate your answers.
Thanks much.
This documents collection seems so daunting.I can understand if they demand to have a look at the references, but asking for company's turnover, tax details etc is plain stupidity.
Why is it? If they don't do this you could just register you own impressive-sounding company and say that you worked for them.
If you are truly a Quality Migrant then these hurdles should be trivial for you to overcome. If they are not then I suggest you fail the quality test (which is the whole point). "Quality" in this context was originally envisaged to mean rather more "anyone who's managed to get a degree and hold down any sort of job for a couple of years".

When it comes to verification of your work history and proof of your graduate or specialist level work experience, QMAS documentation requirements are far too onerous. All other pieces of evidence (academic qualifications, language abilities, financial position etc) should be a walk in the park and no more onerous than any other country's migrant schemes.
ImmD will not make inferences or assumptions when it comes to interpreting your work experience. It is up to you to explicitly prove beyond doubt your level work of experience to support your points claim. This presents problems regardless of whether you work for fortune 500s or smaller companies, even moreso the longer and more varied your career history.
The best thing you can do is to speak to your case officer (if you don't know who that is now you'll find out when you call), discuss your circumstances and work out with them what information they need to be satisfied. Your case officer is actively looking at your file and has probably seen hundreds of files before yours and they may suggest alternatives. If you search some of the QMAS threads here you will see what alternatives others have done to satisfy ImmD.

To mark0: I got the similar second request for private held company I have been working for now, as you did in August. I can't get enough supporting docs like how many payrolls worldwide for the company and the tax returns etc..since it's private company. Can you share how you cleared the bumps? Thanks.
