Cool Questions regarding Yuen Long? I can help

I've been visiting this forum for years but never took the time to register myself.

There are many threads lately asking different questions about Yuen Long and I thought I could be great help to those as I've lived my entire life in Yuen Long. Hence I finally registered myself

Ask me anything about YL or North-Western NT and I'm pretty confident that I can give you the right answer!

I‘ve replied you on your threads, but here you go again:

There is a Residential Bus Service NR945 that runs only during rush hour from YL to HK Island, via Central, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and North Point.

Time table for NR945 (Transportation Dept: http://www.td.gov.hk/filemanager/en/...45%20_eng_.pdf

This is the fastest way to HKI as it doesn't have way fewer stops than 968 and those drivers are much more "aggressive" than KMB's drivers.

    NR945 stops from Yuen Long:

Yuen Long - Fung Cheung Street Mini-bus Terminus (Next to the sport complex)
    Sheung Wan - Macau Ferry
    Central - Harbor Government Offices
    Admiralty - Lippo Center
    Wan Chai - Southorn Playground
Causeway Bay - Victoria Park (Hing Fat Street) near Tin Hau
    Fortress Hill - AIA Tower
Fortress Hill - City Garden Hotel
Norht Point - Java Road Wet Market

Pickup Stops from Hong Kong Island:

North Point - North Point Estate
    North Point - Island Place
Fortress Hill - Fortress Hill MTR Station
    Wan Chai - Southorn Playground
Central - Jubilee Street (Crocodile House)
Yuen Long - Fung Cheung Road Mini-bus Terminus
Yuen Long - Tai Tong Road
Yuen Long - Yuen Long (West) Terminus (same as 968)

Buses from Yuen Long leaves at:

    6:30am and runs every 15-20mins until 8:15am

Buses from North Point leave at:

5:40pm and depart every 30 mins until 8:10pm

these Residential Bus Services are heck a lot faster than 968 as it has fewer stops, no pickup/alighting enroute and the drivers are a lot more aggresive.

There aren't really a "Western" style bakery in Yuen Long, the best bet is the Park n' Shop Superstore in Sun Yuen Long Centre or Fusion by Park n' Shop in Fairview Park.

Very limited options could be found in Starbucks @ Yuen Long Plaza and Pacific Coffee in Fairview Park.

There is also these outlet called "Franstick" or known as 棒之達人 in Chinese located on ground floor of Citimall on Kau Yuk Road; they offer a good collection of Scone and a good variety of fusion bread products.

Your better bet is to get bread from M&S downtown before you headhome.

    Cheers

There is an award winning "King of Lai Cha" in Hung Shui Kiu called "Tai Fat Restaurent" or å¤§ç™¼é¤å»³é–‹å¿ƒèœé¤ in Chinese. This joint has been featured on a number of newspapers as well as magazines.

To get there, take the LRT train (anyone that saids Tuen Mun Ferry Pier) from Yuen Long and get off at Hung Shui Kiu Station. The restaurant is to the right of the station.

It gets crazily packed at weekends.
