    Living in Hung Hom

    Hi,

We are relocating to HK this September and thinking of shortlisting Hung Hom as one area we may live in. Can anyone comment on what it's like to live in this area and recommend some buildings we can look into?

    Generally we are looking at:
    - proximity to supermarkets
    - proximity to preschools
    - easy transport to Central (IFC)
    - rental budget between 20-30k for 3 bedroom (hopefully a development with some facilities such as swimming pool and gym, but not top priority)

Are there many preschools in this area and is it very competitive to get into one of those?

3 bedrooms = whampao = pool/gym youre kind of on your own but there are both you can pay extra for

Laguna Verde is an another, probably in your price range, with nice pool and gym is OK

also can look at royal peninsula = might be at the top end of your scale though and only some of the buildings have gas hobs, which kind of sucks if you ask me
    a

all have close proximity to preschools, supermarkets, transportation...

have a look around here, some recent threads on Hung Hom these days

Habor place at hung hom bay, 770 sq ft with 3 bedroom, 25-29k per month, doable, has large outdoor pool, medium size indoor pool, gym, restaurant, sports room, etc.

park n shop international (one of the largest in hk, recent expansion is 4 minutes walk), mtr via hung hom is 10 mins walk (via hung luen rd), then 20 minutes to central (mtr stated time on website)

Thanks for all the feedback so far!

Sounds like a pretty decent place to live in, just a bit worried about availability of school places. I'm not picky about good schools, but from what I see of a few, admissions open one year in advance and all slots taken up already
